Renee and I were talking, and she explained to me, in layman’s terms, the origin of Creation. Renee explained that “Creation occurs with the violent destruction of an essence, where one state of being dies and becomes dissolved into something completely different.”  I gazed upon her in a state of confusion, which indicated to Renee that I failed to make the ‘leap.’  “Think of it this way,” Renee explained. “Think of it as a breath in and a breath out.” Thinking out loud I suggested that ‘a blend of nitrogen and oxygen are breathed in.’  With that Renee connected the dots by saying, “Exactly!” Renee examined my reaction to make sure I was paying attention, then said, “The breathable air dies to itself and is transformed into an entirely different element.” With a discerning look I added, “Breathable air goes in, Carbon Dioxide comes out. The point being that one essence disappears while another completely different compound is emitted.”  I suspected Renee was pleased that I was tracking the conversation, so she continued by saying, “You’re missing the bigger picture! Everything is in scale; as above, so below!” Renee paused briefly then continued, “The truth is that most people are afraid of losing themselves, that’s what it all comes down to!”  That’s when she lost me. Renee’s comment blew my fuse, so I tilted my head in a fashion that resembled a puppy who had just witnessed a mysterious sound! Shortly thereafter, my expression went blank! The thought of losing myself wasn’t an option. Narcissism.
